REFUND POLICY
General

The following rules shall be known as the National Rural Bamboo Mission & Research
Institute (Refund of Tuition & Other Fee) Rules, 2015.

They shall apply to all national and international students at National Rural Bamboo
Mission & Research Institute campus in its entirety.
- They shall come into force on 1st July, 2015.

These Rules can be amended, augmented, clarified, interpreted, added to, deleted from,
and changed by the Institute Administration. Any such change shall be intimated to the
residents electronically and also by display on the official notice board.

Application for the refund of tuition fee, food and accommodation fee received before the
closure of admission for the concerned programme will be accepted and thereafter no
application for refund will be accepted under any circumstances.

Request for cancellation of admission and refund of fees may be considered as per the
following norms:
FEE REFUND POLICY
In Case of New Admission
-
In case where a student withdraws admission/communicates his/her intention not to
attend the institute one month before the date of scheduled commencement of classes,
Full Fee and security paid to the institute will be refunded after deducting Rs 15000/- as
administrative charges.
Note: 1. Fees includes –
- Admission Fee

In the case where a student withdraws admission or communicates his /her intention
not to attend the institute less than a month before the date of the scheduled
commencement of classes, the following Fee Amount (If paid) will be refunded.
Note: Admission fee will not be refunded in the above case-

In case where a student withdraws admission/communicates his /her intention not to
attend the institute after the date of commencement of classes, then the Rules of Fee
Refund governing existing students become applicable in mutatis mutandis, all unpaid
fees must be received before TC is issued to the concerned student.
Note:
Security amount, if any, shall be refunded without interest, after adjustment of
dues, if any, on withdrawal from the institute. Security deposit is adjustable against
damage to, or loss of –
- Library books
- Technology facilities &
- Other equipment or assets of the institute
In case of Existing Student withdrawing in the mid /end of the session

In order to withdraw their ward, parents need to submit their application in the prescribed
format at least a month before the date of withdrawal.
Fee amount to be refunded as mentioned below:

Student who has paid the *full quarter fee needs to be charged only up to the end of
the month in which the student has last attended classes while the remaining
proportionate fee for that quarter will be refunded.

Student who has not paid the * full quarter fees, needs to pay till the end of the month
that he/she has last attended the classes in.

Transport Fee needs to be refunded /recovered proportionately on similar pattern as
per point no. (i) & (ii) mentioned above.

In case of Annual Charges /Payments the fee needs to be refunded /recovered
proportionately up to end of the quarter in which student has last attended the classes.
Note: Annual charges /Payment need to be worked out quarterly for the purpose of
point no. (4) Above

Security amount, if any needs to refunded without interest after adjustment of dues, if
any, on completion of the student’s studies. Security deposit is adjustable against
damage to, or loss of, library books, laboratory equipment, technology facilities and
other equipment or assets of the institute. All unpaid fees must be paid before TC is
issued to the student.

In case of Resource fee, it will be refunded only when institute kit (Books & Note
books or Bag etc.) has not been given to the student.
Application of refund after the closure of admission for concerned programme, no tuition
fee shall be refunded.
Note:
-
For deduction of the proportionate monthly tuition fee, the programme tuition fee
without any benefit like scholarship, financial aid etc. (if any) will be considered.

If an applicant has paid lesser than the amount to be deducted from Tuition Fee, then the
deduction amount may be adjusted from the fee paid for food/hostel
accommodation/laundry/security or other related deposits, if applicable.
NON-REFUNDABLE FEES/CASES
-
Amount paid for obtaining Prospectus, Application fee, Processing fee, Entrance fee,
late fee, Programme Transfer fee etc. is non-refundable under all circumstances,
unless in specific are prescribed as refundable.

In case a student leaves after the last date of admission or withdraws/leaves in the
midstream, in such cases, that student shall have no claim of refund of fee and other
charges already paid or otherwise, whatsoever against the Institute.

In case a student leaves after the last date of admission or withdraws/leaves in
midstream, in such cases, any Institute scholarship/concession will be adjusted against
the security money.

If in any case, a candidate has unknowingly or wilfully concealed or suppressed any
information or fact or found impersonating or using any fraudulent means for getting
the admission to the Institute or for obtaining scholarships, which renders him/she
ineligible for the admission and/or scholarship, the admission of such an applicant
shall be cancelled and/or he/she will be liable to disciplinary action(s) as decided by
the Institute and/or as per the law of the land. That candidate shall have no claim of
refund of fee and other charges already paid or otherwise, whatsoever against the
Institute.
PROCEDURE OF REFUND

For refund, applicant needs to apply to the Institute on the prescribed form as
available in Registrar’s Office/Admission Office at the Institute Campus.

Only original form duly filled and signed by the student and parent/guardian received
in person or by post by the last date of admission will be accepted.

Application sent via email or any other mode will not be accepted and cannot be used
as a reference for claim of refund.
-
Postal delay will not be the liability of the Institute and the date on which application
by post is received by the Institute will be considered for refund.
-
Refund will be made only after the applicant has surrendered the original fee Receipt,
ID Card (if already issued), letter from Institute for processing Loan and any other
document as required by the Institute at the time of refund.

Refund, if any, will be made through the account payee cheque only in the favour of
concerned student or parent or guardian as opted and written by the student while
filling the ‘Application Form for Refund’. Once the application for refund has been
submitted, then any request to change the name of payee (student/parent/guardian) or
for request to reissue the cheque because of postal delay or otherwise, additional
processing fee of Rs. 500/- will be charged.

Any amount, if refunded, will be in Indian currency only. For International
Applicants, the refund against application received as per prescribed guidelines will
also be in Indian currency and as per the actual conversion rate of US Dollar (on the
date of the student withdrawal application).

In case, the applicant has availed any letter or document from the Institute for
processing the loan then the refund will be made through the account payee cheque in
favour of the sanctioning bank, unless the applicant submits the NOC from the bank
to get the refund in his own/parent/guardian favour.

All the applications for refund of tuition fee/hostel accommodation fee/food facility
fee etc. will be processed within minimum 8-10 weeks from the date of receiving of
the refund application.

No interest is payable on any amount deposited with Institute also including
refundable amount, if any.

An applicant claiming for refund of tuition fee and/ or hostel accommodation fee and/
or food facility fee (as applicable) before the commencement of the classes, he/she
shall not join the programme and/ or avail hostel accommodation and/ or food facility
(as and if applicable).
